Konstantinos in Lysos provides the perfect holiday destination
for exploring the beautiful region of Paphos in Cyprus.
Lysos
(Lyssos)
Lysos is a traditional Cypriot mountain village, approximately
45 minutes by car from Paphos airport and just 15 minutes
drive from the vibrant town of Polis and Latchi - a port famous
for its beaches and water sports. The village has two tavernas
and a conveniently located mini-supermarket.
At an average altitude of 560
metres the Lysos area is above the humidity line and is well
known for its scenic views, adventurous mountain biking and
walking trails, horse riding and exotic wildlife. At the same
time it's the ideal place for a peaceful sunshine holiday.
A recommended place to eat is the small
traditional Paradisos
Hills Hotel in Lysos, which provides freshly cooked authentic
Cypriot dishes and delicious English Sunday lunches.
Polis
On the route to Latchi is Polis, a bustling
seaside town with a lovely square that offers an excellent
mix of bars, restaurants, shops, history, culture and beach
- making it an enchanting place to explore. Other activities
on offer include go karting, ten pin bowling at the nearby
centre, and quad bike hire for riding around the local
area and safari trekking.

Latchi
The nearest beach is at Latchi, approximately 15km
from Lysos. The warm, clear sea is ideal for swimming, and offers
a variety of watersports. Home to the famous 'Baths of Aphrodite',
this friendly fishing port offers something for everyone. You can
pack your snorkels and picnic and take a motorboat around the bay
for a wonderful day out, or simply relax in a taverna around the
pretty harbour - a great spot to enjoy the local speciality of a
freshly cooked fish meze, and to watch the fishermen unload their
catch. On the doorstep is the Akamas National Park, a tranquil area
of natural beauty, and a paradise for the more active holidaymaker
who enjoys walking and outdoor pursuits.
Paphos
The bustling tourist and commercial centre
of Paphos town
and harbour is famous for the picture-postcard bay that gave birth
to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. A 45-minute drive
from Lysos, here you will find an intoxicating mix of historical
sites, picturesque harbour, sandy beach, local and tourist shops
and markets, and a fantastic variety of bars and restaurants – as
well as a large waterpark for lots of family fun!
Other places to visit
Akamas National park is close to the village, where you can enjoy
the magnificent unspoiled nature of the area. Going
east from Lysos towards Paphos Forest, you will come across the
Stavros Tis Psokas Forest Station. Further east towards Nicosia
is the resplendent Kykko Monastery, the richest and most historic
icon of the island's thousand year-old monastic past. Continuing
from there you will find the mountain resort of Troodos.
